in the process. What does "energy by
nature" mean? We are
committed to advancing the science of natural skincare and beauty. Known for
the high concentration of our botany, nature is preserved as an important
part of all URBAN retreat products. We use
ethically derived active ingredients from plants, algae or the sea, all of
which have been carefully selected not only for their effectiveness but also
for their origin and safety. What does "proven by
clinical trial" mean? We don’t
say it unless it’s proven! We are so confident that our products deliver
visible, realistic results that we send to an approved independent clinical
testing facility that actually measures the results in a controlled environment,
which means there can be no fraud! All study
procedures are carried out in accordance with the Ethical Principles of
Ethical Principles for Medical Research (Medical Research Involving Human
Subjects) adopted by the 18th WMA General Assembly. Where is the Urban Retreat
product made? All our
creams, liquids, color cosmetics and supplements are made in our own
laboratory in France. What
is the standard of production in France? Cosmetic
Products Regulation EC 1223/2020 is mandatory for products offered for sale
within the EU. European cosmetic rules are the strictest in the world. Are Urban Retreat Products
Dermatological Tested? Yes, all
our temporary products are tested and approved by a certified dermatologist
before being released for sale. Does the urban repeat test on
animals? We take
environmental and animal safety very seriously. We do not test our products
on animals, and we do not use any ingredients that have been tested on
animals. Furthermore, we are listed on the PETA list of cruelty-free brands and a recognized
cruelty-free brand. Is the Urban Retreat product
natural? It is
important to know that there is no legal definition of "natural" in
the cosmetics industry. Our priority is product safety and functionality. We
use many ingredients that are certified organic, natural or obtained
naturally. We do not make with any recorded "allergens" so in some
cases it is impossible to use natural ingredients. In this case, we also use
some allergen-free, safe synthetic ingredients. Are Urban Retreat Products GMO-free? The power
of the sea is infinite. Many of our products are formulated with marine
derived active ingredients because they are the safest alternative to deliver
the quality and performance we demand from a cosmetic or skincare product. We
prefer to use natural ingredients rather than synthetics. As a result, we are
not a vegan brand. Urban Retreat Products
Gluten-Free? Gluten is
a protein found primarily in wheat, rye and other grains that we sometimes
use in our supplements. Is Urban environmentally conscious
of repetition? How we
package our products is as important as the formula, so we strictly screen
each packaging material for safety as well as environmental impact. We are
committed to protecting our planet for future generations. Our new headquarters
has been built as an eco-sustainable hub where natural resources allow energy
costs to be reduced, and a solar power system covers our full utilization
needs, which means we are literally powered by the sun. We are very proud that
our laboratory and staff have received an official environmental award for
“low carbon footprint”. We have a
recycling contract and a segregation process for everything that enters our
facility, be it glass, plastic or cardboard. Likewise, we are
currently introducing an 'eco refill system' for our products that allows
containers to be used repeatedly. Wherever
possible, we use recyclable materials for everything that leaves our
facilities, including our shipping boxes, products and tissue paper filling. Urban Retreat Products Biodegradable? We care
about your health which is why all our topical products are dermatological
tested, this is not unique to our brand, but as far as we know URBAN RETREAT
is the only brand that tests all its washed products for biodegradability and
toxicity In short:
if it goes under a plug hole, we send it for testing, so we can be sure it is
biodegradable without damaging the ecosystem. Why do city dwellers repeat too
much about "safety"? Cosmetics
are the only way to come into contact with toxic chemicals, but it is one
that we can do anything about. Our
laboratory staff is researching the safety of every possible component so
that we can ensure that we are creating the highest safe working product. What is the Urban Retreat
Ingredient Selection Process? 1500,-plus
chemicals are banned or restricted by the EU to personal care products, but
we go further. We conduct safety assessment of each component before we
include our products. We discard all components that do not meet our detailed
health and safety standards. Why is "Perfume /
Fragrance" used in some products? If we
don't need it, we don't keep it. Every component of our product has a
function; Nothing is used without careful consideration. Wherever possible
our products are non-scented, but in order to include adequate levels of
effective ingredients in certain products, especially those containing marine
active ingredients, we need to mask the odor of some active ingredients. We
only use a perfume / perfume that is made especially for us. Our perfume /
perfume ingredients are synthetic because “natural” alternatives are
classified as allergens. Our perfume is free of certified allergens,
